Installation Vacuum pump filters for your food processing machine Guide

Correct installation is just as important as correct selection. A filter installed improperly will fail quickly – or worse, damage your pump.

Inlet Filter Installation

Step 1: Power down
Turn off the vacuum pump and disconnect power. Lock out/tag out if required by your safety protocol.

Step 2: Release vacuum
Open the vent valve to release any residual vacuum in the system.

Step 3: Remove old filter
Note the orientation – most filters have an arrow indicating flow direction.

Step 4: Clean the housing
Wipe the inside of the filter housing with a lint-free cloth. Remove any debris or old seal material.

Step 5: Install new filter

• Ensure the O-ring or gasket is in place

• Align the arrow with flow direction

• Hand-tighten plus a quarter turn – do not over-torque

Step 6: Test
Restart the pump and listen for air leaks. Check vacuum level returns to normal.

Exhaust Filter / Oil Mist Separator Installation

Critical warning: Exhaust filters have a directional flow. Installing them backward will cause immediate back pressure and potential pump damage.

Key points:

• Replace the O-ring or gasket every time

• Do not over-tighten – follow torque specifications in your pump manual

• Check for leaks after installation
